“The generosity of our many donors opens the door to economic opportunities that many students otherwise would not have,” USG Chancellor Steve Wrigley said. “I am especially grateful for Governor and First Lady Kemp’s support of our efforts. For many students, financial barriers can prevent them from completing a degree or participating in a range of experiences that can enrich their education. To put it simply, higher education can be life-changing and these donations do make a difference.”

We gathered to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of public higher education in Georgia. The University System of Georgia’s mission is to create knowledge - and each sponsor has in some significant way helped us provide opportunities to expand knowledge, to summit new heights, and to elevate excellence. Each sponsorship positions us better than ever to continue transforming lives across the state of Georgia – and to the top of the world and back.

Noted guests of the evening included the Governor and First Lady, University System of Georgia Board of Regents, the Chancellor, Presidents of the colleges and universities within the University System of Georgia, and other corporate and academic leaders.

Included in the Gala agenda was an awards program to recognize outstanding faculty, friends, and alumni of the University System of Georgia. In addition, an individual was recognized for his or her extraordinary contribution to higher education in Georgia. Please see our website on Awards and Scholarships for more details.

Your support and participation of the Gala is critical to the success of the University System of Georgia Foundation’s efforts to increase need-based scholarships which are made available to more than 333,000 students that attend all colleges and universities of the University System of Georgia.
